Daniel Yon, 2023-2024 fellow, was awarded a  £430,020 grant to investigate the social life of confidence by the Leverhulme Trust.

This research project aims to investigate how communication with others can alter our personal feelings of uncertainty, how this phenomenon occurs in the brain, and how these processes can go wrong.

The four-year project will be led by Daniel Yon and his Uncertainty Laboratory at Birkbeck's School of Psychological Sciences, in collaboration with researchers from Oxford University's Institute of Philosophy and Yale University.

Daniel Yon developed this application during his time as Visting Fellow at the IEA de Paris. He said: “I benefitted enormously from the unique intellectual environment at the IEA, and the generous time and conditions the Institute gives its Fellows. I wouldn’t have been able to develop this successful proposal without my time in Paris, and discussions with other Fellows and staff of the IEA will continue to shape how we take this project forward. Thanks to everyone at the IEA for a warm, welcoming, and stimulating year!”.

Congratulations Doctor Yon !
