Organisation et participation au panel "Neither Empires nor Nations: Small states and Protectorates in the Mediterranean in the long nineteenth century" à l'occasion du 130ème meeting annuel de l'American Historical Association.

Présentation

The schematic perception of modernity as the process of transition from a world of empires to a world of nation-states has left unexplored alternative solutions of political organisation, such as the protectorates and the petit states. The panel will discuss the political and ideological dynamics of the phenomenon through such cases in the Mediterranean during the long nineteenth century.
