Session d'octobre de l'Intercontinental Academia 4

Du 18 au 27 octobre à l’IEA de Paris, se poursuit la 4ème édition de l'Intercontinental Academia (ICA) sur l'Intelligence et l'intelligence artificielle, avec le soutien du réseau UBIAS, de la Fondation RFIEA, de Rennes School of Business, et du laboratoire AMSE (Aix-Marseille School of Economics).

Présentation

Créée il y a 4 ans, l’Intercontinental Academia (ICA) a pour but de créer un réseau mondial de futurs leaders de la recherche en favorisant la mise en relation des meilleurs chercheurs mondiaux en début/milieu de carrière avec des chercheurs internationalement reconnus afin de travailler ensemble sur des recherches interdisciplinaires révolutionnaires. Cette initiative représente une véritable opportunité pour les jeunes chercheurs du monde entier de s'engager dans une étude interdisciplinaire et collaborative.

Présentation d'IC4

La quatrième édition de l'ICA, qui se déroule sur l'année 2021 et 2022, explore les complémentarités entre l'Intelligence artificielle et les neurosciences/cognitives, et a pour but de réfléchir sur les questions scientifiques, techniques et sociétales posées par le développement de l’intelligence artificielle.

19 chercheurs travaillant dans des universités et des instituts de recherche au Brésil, en Allemagne, en France, au Royaume-Uni, en Pologne, aux États-Unis, au Japon, en Afrique du Sud, en Israël et aux Pays-Bas ont été choisis au terme d'une procédure sélective pour y participer. Ils bénéficient du soutien de 16 mentors : chercheurs renommés et reconnus dans le monde entier dans divers domaines scientifiques, philosophiques etc. Parmi eux, citons l'économiste et professeur au Collège de France, Philippe Aghion, Robert Aumann, Lauréat du prix Nobel de sciences économiques 2005, Martin Rees, co-fondateur du Centre for the Study of ExistentialRisk (CSER) à l'Université de Cambridge, ou encore Karen Yeung.

Après une session d'ouverture qui s’est déroulée virtuellement du 13 au 18 juin dernier, l’IEA de Paris organise et accueille dans ses murs les journées de travail d'octobre, la session finale aura lieu en juin 2022 à Belo Horizonte.

En parallèle des sessions de travail fermées qui se dérouleront à l'IEA, une table ronde intitulée Challenges of AI in the next two decades sera ouverte au public le 22 octobre à 15h. Des conférences et ateliers sont également programmés dans trois universités parisiennes partenaires de l'IEA de Paris :l’université Paris-Saclay, l’ENS et Sorbonne Université.
