What is an institute of advanced studies?
The Institutes for Advanced Studies (IAS) are centers of intellectual innovation offering residential research fellowships to leading scientists, working in a variety of fields and from all geographical origins.
Paris IAS is focused particularly on the humanities and social sciences, including in their relationship to other fields of knowledge. The institute intends to combine individual research stays of up to nine months (postdoctoral scholars, university professors) with topical or interdisciplinary research seminars, colloquia and scientific meetings, taking advantage of the richness of intellectual life of Paris.
Fellows receive housing and workspaces, as well as a logistical and financial support.
